Sustainability is integral to how we work in our own operations and across our value chain. We have ambitious targets to reduce our environmental footprint and ensure a diverse workforce.

Targets to tackle
climate change

In signing the 2015 Paris Agreement, governments made a commitment to try to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. To achieve this, the world needs to halve its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. 

We’re determined to decouple our company’s growth from its carbon footprint. That’s why climate action is an integral part of our business strategy. And why we’ve set a clearly defined and ambitious decarbonization pathway aligned with the Paris Agreement. 

Validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), our climate targets aim to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. 

The race to net zero is one we refuse to lose

Business strategies built on climate action and backed by ambitious decarbonization targets can get us over the finish line faster.

Our 2030 targets for reductions in absolute greenhouse gas emissions are 75% from our operations and 35% from our supply chain*. Our 2050 target is net zero. In Novonesis, we have more than halved ​our scope one and two emissions since 2018 with solid revenue growth.

We commit to measuring and communicating the share of our revenue that enables a healthier planet and heathier lives. We do this by assessing how much of our annual sales contribute positively to the SDGs.
